sabratha, the roman ruins

July 25th, 2010

this is sabratha. located about 53 km from Tripoli

from Tripoli, drives all the way to Tunis (only 1 way to reach Tunis), about 1 hour later, for sure you will arrive at Sabratha City.

near to this historical place, you can find a very beautiful beach there. here the example. so lovely.

after 1 year 2 months and 2 weeks

May 26th, 2010

I still remember those days, when I started join photography field. I was so dumb, know nothing and set auto everything. But, thanks god, I met with Shutterbugz owner, Mr. Shahril Mustapha who willing to teach me without fees. How lucky I am. :).

Below is the picture of my first wedding job. I don’t know anything, but uncle next door forced me to shoot his relatives. With only short notice, I start dig out all information related with the dslr handling. Read all the articles which I do not understand at all. So, i took short cut. I went through all Malaysian Wedding photographers and I try to learn what and how they captured the images. Still hard, but easy way to learn. Then, I try to memorized. :)

-promo- back in 2009

After that, with some confidence and know-how to take photo, I start create my own free blog and hopefully, I can earn some money after that.. :)

-my first shot-

My first job (wedding) was on 15 march 2009. First time I use my dslr (canon 350d) as a tool to take pictures. Set at Manual, then forget to change it many times, so, a lot of my pictures turn to be too highlight or too dark. hehe. what a sweet memory. Nevermind, as long as i enjoy taking those couple. First time I published in my blog (www.thechapternine.wordpress.com), I copy the url and paste it in my friends yahoo messengers. They take a look and put down some good comment. Moral support! :). Thanks to all my friend, but the one that always support me that time was my wife. She kept telling me that, “oowh, its ok, you can try again next time”..”this is nice”..”oowh, this you have to take out this..” I said, take out what?? She think before she said, “erm….I mean you have to compose your picture before you shoot”..owh… hehe. I missed those conversation.

I’ll start to update from now, my new life here (Tripoli) and my past sweet memories. Love.

now mostly i upload my pictures in my facebook. easy to upload and a lot viewer, perhaps space too. you know when you focus on something, you tend to forget another thing. hehe. typical human.

dslr?

April 5th, 2010

i never thought that in future i will be the owner of dslr.

seriously, i never dream about that.

when my wife told me about the beauty of dslr, i am just clueless! i have no idea what was dslr all about. she had an experienced using it in her class and on top of that, one of her officemates had showed to her how to use dslr and then awesome pictures produced. Perfect! She told me about very weird terms such as Aperture,Megapixels,ISO,Zoom In/Zoom Out and bla bla bla which i never understood at all. :). i really don’t interested. haha. She said the dslr can capture thousand images with only 1 charged battery and also the quality always top notch. Seriously, that time, I was very hard trying to understand her story. And, at that time, i told her, why we want to spend a lot of money just to buy a dslr? We are already have a digital camera in hand (Nikon S1) and also can take picture with 5.1 megapixels (if i am not mistaken, hehe). Then, i noticed why i am not really exposed myself very much to dslr before, this is because i don’t have any friends using it and i don’t like to know about it.

wedding

too many things to handle when we are in stage of preparing the biggest event in our life (wedding day). at that time i was working outside the city, in the middle of the sea. so, i asked my wife to settle down everything and just tell me the progress of all the preparations. hehe. i am okay with everything as per she wanted to but only one thing i don’t agree with. the photography. Why we want to hire and spend too much money for our wedding pictures? better if i ask my friends who bring their own digital cameras during our wedding day and collect from them after the event finished. it will be more cheaper and cost nothing at all. we had a little arguments about this. hehe, sorry wife. She asked for the budget about this matter. we discussed about that.ok, i agreed. after that, she showed me few websites and blogs of the malay wedding photographers. i take a look at their websites.good, not so bad as i thought. my first impression.suddenly i change my mind.I was very impressed with their pictures. seriously, i never thought that those malay photographers can do like this. i thought only chinese photographers can do like these. (my wife stay at Jalan Ipoh, and a lot of Bridal Shops/Gallery/Photographers for Chinese wedding were there, at the left and right side all the way from Sentul to Kepong). Then, I agreed to allocate some budgets from my wedding expenses for this photography services. Without wasting a time, my wife ask for quotations from few groups of young and talented photographers. We pick together best of the best by considering their services including package provided and price quoted. Then, we set an appointment with them.

Bali

Everyone knows Bali is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. That’s the main reason why we go there for our honeymoon. Very beautiful island and most importantly, very cheap to spend our money there. That’s another story. :). At Bali, too many great things to be captured such as places, peoples, cultures, religions, foods, houses, transports, animals and etc. too many things to state it all here. I wish i can have more time to tell you guys about the beautiful of Bali. For those who still not visited Bali yet, i advice you to go there. Awesome!
Anyway, i only regret 1 thing. i never thought that i should bring very good camera. For me (at that time), by using a digital camera only should be enough for our honeymoon. But, i was wrong. My digital camera can only take few hundred pictures only (only 2G memory card size), and the worst thing had happened to me was the battery long life. i was so disappointed when i saw something that really catches my eyes,my digital camera did not working . off mode. in fact, i just started the journey on that day, when we are on our way to go to one of the beautiful mountain named Kintamani. See, that’s not only the problem that i faced there. Too many things had happened after that., mmmm. i was so disappointed. all those moments cannot be repeated again.
Before we leaved, our photographers were told us that our wedding pictures will come out at least 3 or 4 days after the event. My wife was so happy to see our wedding pictures. So, we went to one of the internet cafe and start searching. After few minutes searching, then we saw our wedding pictures at their website. Wowww! So nice. Never regret to hire wedding photographers for our wedding. Even though i was so angry at the first place when my wife told me about their charges. Hehe. From there, i promised myself to own one dslr in future. That was my first thought. Seriously.

Next story will be in Singapore when i bought my first dslr. Till then, bye.

new environment

March 29th, 2010

it’s has been a while since i arrived here last january.too many things to do at the moment, and have no time to update my blog (seriously). inshaAllah, when ever i have time after this,i’ll write down all my new experience here and also some tips in taking pictures. since yesterday i received few questions and favors regarding all the things related to dslr. honestly speaking,i don’t know much about camera/dslr/videocam. :). but i am willing to tell you guys some experiences (actually my hands on experiences!) on how i captured some moments. to tell you the truth, i took pictures with my heart. what ever i see, and nice to be captured, then i click the button (that’s all). as long as it all cames from your heart, it will be nicely produced, seriously!. sincerity is very important. you are very lucky if you know all the basic techniques and knowledges about all your gadgets. but, as i have mentioned before,i started my hobby and start taking pictures without basic knowledges at all. only basic gadget and a little bit brave! i would like to thank again my very close friend plus mentor (wantai) for his support and his courage to teach me all the basic of photography (till now i am still not finish yet my class with him, haha).

yesterday, my friends bought new dslr. i was shocked actually, really thought that was a joke.but then, my other friend who convinced them to buy, telling me the story and we have long chat in facebook (can see from the comments, tooo long).hmm, i am so impressed and so proud. hehe.now, our clan become bigger, actually not too many because all of them were my ex-schoomates before, but slowly i can see they are now like photography as well.hehe. one of them asked me to teach him few things. i said i don’t know (same excuse like before), then suddenly i think, why not i use my blog as a medium to tell them all of my experiences in photography, at least i can help them to feel the magic of freezing the moments.rite? what a great idea i think. :) (syok sendiri). ok lah, at least my little help from northern african region, can save their penny as well and improve their skills too.. correct or not? now we have around 8-9 peoples who own and love photography.hopefully will increase after this.slowly,inshaAllah.

till then, see u again. keyword for today is ‘take picture with your heart’!
